Step One: Fill the ear canal with ear cleaner all the way to the top until the solution is spilling out.
Step Two: Massage the base of the ear for 30 seconds. You will hear a “squishing” sound.
Step Three: Stand back, let your pet shake their head, centrifugal force will pull the debris to the outside of the canal. If they don’t shake, that is ok.
Step Four: Take a cotton ball and wipe out the excess debris from the ear. Please do not use a q-tip, this can damage your pets eardrum.
Step Five: If your veterinarian has prescribed an ear ointment to apply after cleaning the ears, you will want to wait about 15 minutes or more before applying the medication.
Step Six: When using the ear ointment, stick the whole applicator tip into the ear and give a gentle squeeze. You cannot use too much of this medication. It’s better to use too much rather than too little.
